The National Youth Information Centre

NICM is a department of the National Institute for Education, Education Counselling Centre and Centre for Continuing Education of Teachers and is an organization directly controlled by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

The NICM offers information to young people and workers for free on following areas: education in the Czech Republic and abroad, travelling, leisure time, social-pathological phenomena, citizens and society, youth in the European Union et cetera. It is an overarching subject that provides methodical help, it controls and coordinates other youth information centres all across the Czech Republic. NICM is located at the address Na Poříčí 1035/4, Praha 1. 

The NICM is a national coordinator Youth Information Network and is a member of the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency ERYICA


The National Youth Information Centre (www.nicm.cz) was founded in 1992 as a first Youth Information Centre in the Czech Republic. It was appointed to become a national centre in 2008.  Since 2013 the centre is a part of the National Institute for Education. The Youth Information Network in the Czech Republic consists of other 40 Youth Information Centres, which are coordinated by the NICM as an overarching organisation for the remaining centres.
