In the school system of the Czech Republic there exist eight-year and six-year secondary general schools (multi-year secondary general school) as well as secondary general schools offering a four-year programmes. Secondary general schools define their school curricula in accordance with the government policy.
The education provided by four-year programmes and by the second stage of secondary general schools is in accordance with school curricula developed on the basis of the national curricula for secondary general education (Framework Education Programme for Secondary General Education).
Education at the lower stage of multi-year secondary general schools is provided in accordance with the school curricula developed in agreement with the national curricula for the basic education (Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education).
